#123 – Moana and the Importance of the Journey

On this episode of the Reel World Theology Podcast:

One of the most well-received animated films of 2016 was Moana. It seemed to have a little of everything; break out star in Auli’i Cravalho, established star in Dwayne Johnson, and music that was partially crafted by current cultural golden boy, Lin Manuel Miranda. With Disney’s animation department scoring another huge win, all this talent comes together to give us a familiar story in an unfamiliar way. We talk about how this works for us, its audience, and what we’d love to see more of in the future.
